Cultural Historian, City of Chicago
Tim Samuelson is the cultural historian for the City of Chicago, a position that was created specifically for him in 2002. Formerly, he quenched his fascination for Chicago architecture as a preservation specialist at the Chicago Landmarks Commission. Later, he was curator of architecture at the Chicago Historical Society, now the Chicago History Museum.
“I’ve created jobs for myself based on my belief in what’s interesting and important about Chicago.”
